Mixed Signal IC Engineer

San Francisco, CA

About Us

Our mission is to break the slow, iterative loop of hardware development by enabling engineers to test and refine electronics at the speed of thought. Our reconfigurable circuit technology transforms months of waiting into moments of discovery, accelerating the pace of electronic innovation. Our days are spent solving tough manufacturing, physics, and design challenges at the nano to macro scale.

We envision a world where anyone can build unprecedented electronics by making hardware that can change almost as easily as software. By building the most comprehensive understanding of how electronic components truly behave, we will fundamentally transform how humanity designs and builds technology.

What We Value

Passion for your Craft: Show us your personal projects, your passions, your reason for being an engineer. We look for a maker’s attitude and willingness to take on any challenge.

Learner’s Mindset:  We focus on learning and thrive in an environment with hard problems and frequent feedback.

High Standards & Continuous Self Improvement: We have high expectations colored by optimism. We prioritize learning, experiment often, and admit when we’re wrong. We are pushing the boundaries of what is possible and we value people who are hungry to figure out the unknown. We are intellectually honest with a healthy disregard for the impossible.

Role Overview

We are developing a radically new physical architecture that integrates topological computing with advanced display driving technology. As a Mixed-signal IC Designer, your primary mission is to architect and design the custom silicon that controls this system. You will design the high-voltage driver interfaces and the analog circuits for our topological core and bring them up on the bench.

While your immediate focus will be purely on the silicon design, this role offers a unique growth path where you can expand your expertise into Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) backplanes and Gate-on-Array (GoA) panel integration. You’ll work closely with materials, electronics, and manufacturing teams to bring our lab-scale process into a repeatable, scalable production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, simulate, and optimize high-voltage mixed-signal blocks including column drivers, level shifters, high-precision DACs, and charge pumps

  • Design and integrate low-power analog sub-circuits that interface directly with high-voltage routing grids, maintaining strict signal integrity and SNR.

  • Design output stages capable of driving massive, highly variable RC loads

  • Work alongside display panel manufacturers to model and simulate the interface between our silicon and their model card

  • Work with packaging house and establish bring-up and test procedures for the new device

Requirements & Attributes

  • MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years of deep, hands-on experience in analog/mixed-signal IC design

  • Proven experience designing circuits that drive large, complex, off-chip capacitive/RC loads

  • Expert-level proficiency with standard mixed-signal design flows

  • Comfort working in a startup or fast-paced R&D environment.

Bonus Points that Make You Stand Out

  • TFT Curious: While prior experience with TFTs (IGZO, LTPS) is not required, you must have the desire and physical intuition to learn display device physics, interpret TFT SPICE models, and understand how panel-level parasitics impact your silicon design.

  • Experience in high-voltage silicon nodes (CD/BCD, eHV)

  • Experience designing sub-threshold analog circuits, sensor interfaces, or analog compute-in-memory

If you don’t meet the exact requirements but have other reasons why you think you would be a good fit, we encourage you to apply and tell us about them. All applications will be reviewed and receive a response from a human.
